This information can help you make a timely and well-informed decision on your purchases.

 

  1. How do I order my textbooks?
  2. Visit our website and select the bncvirtual.com button. This directs you to our virtual textbook store through Barnes and Noble College (“BNC”). Select “Let’s Get Started”, and enter your Student ID number under “Shop By Schedule” to view all your materials.

  3. Where do I order my uniforms?
  4. Right on the WSCC Online Campus Store and can be found directly at http://booksource.westshore.edu/Store/RequiredMaterials/PoliceAcademy
     
  5. What items are required for my uniform?
  6. -Police Academy Students are required to have
    Professional Uniform - Uniform Shirts x2
    - Uniform Pants x2
    - Belt x1
    -Tie x1
    Work Out Uniform - Baseball Cap x1 - Fitness Sweatshirt x2 - Fitness Pant x2
    - Fitness Tee x2
    - Performance Tee x2
    -Jacket x1
     
  7. When can I order my uniforms?
  8. Police Academy uniforms will be available to order starting TBA. Recruits will receive their uniforms at the beginning of January.
     
  9. How can I make sure I receive my uniform in a timely manner?
    1. Uniforms can take from four (4) to six (6) weeks to be imprinted and delivered. To give the best chance for your uniform to arrive before classes, we recommend that all Police Academy Students order no later than TBA. Ordering by this date allows time for processing, shipping, and any potential delays.
     
  10. Can I use my financial aid to pay for my purchase?
  11. Yes! Financial aid for the Winter Semester November 24th, 2025, and remains available through January 23rd, 2025.

  12. Can I try on uniforms before buying them?
  13. There is no fit line available to try on uniforms in the Bookstore, but you’re welcome to visit NYE in Grand Rapids to try them on and get fitted. Or follow the measurement instructions provided HERE!


  14. How will I receive my order?
  15. We will ensure all students receive their uniforms by transporting them to the Riemer Regional Public Safety Training Center or by having them available for pick up from the Bookstore.

  16. What is the return policy for uniforms?
  17. ALL UNIFORMS ARE FINAL SALE AND ARE NOT RETURNABLE!

  18. Why are prices not listed on the website?
  19. If prices are not listed on our order page, it means we are awaiting feedback from our suppliers. As soon as pricing is finalized, we’ll update the ordering page with uniform costs. Please check back regularly for updates.

  20. Why am I being directed to this page?
  21. We want to ensure you have access to information to help you make a well-informed decision about your required course material purchases.

  22. Why was my order cancelled?
  23. There are a few reasons why an order may be cancelled.
    • Payment was not completed or could not be processed.
    • Order is placed outside of designated bulk order dates, and cannot be accommodated.
    • Order does not meet vendor minimum requirements
    • Many uniform providers have minimum orders (typically 6 or more items, such as polos or jackets) before production can begin.
