Is Textbook Rental Right for ME?

  • YES If…
    • You like your savings up front (often 50% or more off new-book price).
    • You don't want to keep the book when the term is finished.
    • You take good care of your books.
  • NO If…
    • You tend to make a lot of marks in your books or you damage or lose them.
    • You want to have all supplements such as CD-ROMs, workbooks, and access codes to assist you through your learning.
    • You want to keep your books for future reference.
    • You rely on getting some cash back at end-of-semester buyback.

Online Textbook Rental Agreement

By clicking “I ACCEPT” you agree to the terms and conditions of the Textbook Rental Agreement.

Terms and Conditions

  1. I am 18 years of age or older, and therefore able to rent a textbook from the WSCC Bookstore.

  2. I understand and accept the responsibility that I must return my rented book(s) by the rental due date, which is during the last week of the semester it is rented under. I am responsible to return the book(s) rented under the WSCC Bookstore rental program or pay the replacement price of the book and a $15.00 processing fee per book.

  3. I understand and accept that the book rented to me is the property of the West Shore Community College Bookstore and in accepting the terms of this book rental program, I agree to return the book(s) in clean, resalable condition.  No moisture damage, ripped pages or damaged binding.  Highlighting and cribbing must be kept to less than 30% of text.

  4. I accept and understand that the rental fee is refundable only if the book is returned within the posted textbook returns period and meets the conditions described in the WSCC Bookstore's Returns Policy.

  5. I understand that it is my responsibility to know when the rental return deadline date is and any reminders I receive from the WSCC Bookstore are sent as a courtesy.

  6. I understand that my failure to pay the replacement cost of a lost or damaged rental book could result in my account being forwarded to a collection agency.  In this event I will be charged for the outstanding balance plus any fees that the collection agency charges to process my account, up to maximum of an additional 50% of my outstanding bill.
